Modern jive, swing and blues freestyle dances in mid-Surrey. Run by dancers for the benefit of dancers, with surplus proceeds going to local charities.
Also guest DJs and dance teachers appearing at many venues throughout the South of England.
Our home venue in Great Bookham is a charming character venue with two halls - Modern Jive & Latin in the Old Barn Hall and Swing, Blues & WCS in the Harrison Hall. Plus late night Argentine Tango. On selected dates we open at 7:15 p.m. to run an early evening Ballroom and Latin American session as well. The floor in the Old Barn Hall is a suspended oak dance floor; in the Harrison Hall it is an excellent solid wood floor recently replaced at a cost of £10,000.
We do not run a bar as this keeps prices low.
Our Bookham dances attract experienced dancers from all over the South of England. We are conveniently located less than 10 minutes from Junction 9 of the M25.
Advanced booking is strongly recommended, we usually sell out in advance. Numbers are restricted to a finite capacity limit. We will enforce gender balancing if the ratio falls below 47/53, and recently this has meant MEN have had to wait for places.
