Sarah's Modern Jive is in its 10th year and going from strength to strength, one of the 1st to bring on-line payments, it is now merging with sister company to form 'BritRock Modern Jive Dance Company'.
The new company continues to be run by Sarah Johnson, who ensures a gentle merger of the renowned friendly weekly classes of Sarah's MJ, to the high profile BritRock Ltd, of corporate and national events.
The BritRock Dance Co. offers a complete solution for jive enthusiasts and newcomers alike, running weekly classes every Wednesday and Thursday for all abilities and holding workshops and Dances at great locations. With friendly and talented crew to assist we consider all members as friends and offer encouragement to all.
With a dedicated DJ and professional sound system, we hold a cross section of events from the fun and frivolous Themed Party Nights where we encourage dressing up (see web gallery) to the three prestigious annual Balls at the magnificent Winter Gardens Eastbourne. Well known as 'Putting on the Ritz' this is an extremely popular black tie event and a great chance to dress up and impress.
BritRock MJ Dance Company also hold Sunday afternoon Tea Dances at the picturesque village of Alfrison and other Grand annual Dances at the Hove Centre, one of the largest dance floors in the South, called 'The Brighton Ball'. Another fantastic opportunity for dancers to meet up from other areas and happy to travel 50/60 miles to get to this popular dance.
BritRock Awards Ltd is an acclaimed National Independent Modern Jive Competition, an annual event held in the Great Hall, Hove Centre, near Brighton. Entering into it's 7th year BritRock is one of the UK's most popular, professional and respected leading Modern Jive competitions. As well as receiving valuable local support, this two day UK National Championship also attracts competitors from as far afield as Australia.
Great fun, Great music, Great friends, amazing atmosphere and keeps you fit,The BritRock Dance Company believes in a safe and quality environment with teaching second to none. Why not come along to our next evening and we will be very glad to welcome you.
Passionate about helping others, The BritRock MJ Dance Company is committed to assisting orphaned children and the 'Flying Kites' community project in Jabini, Kenya. See charity web page 'Build a Future in Kenya' Registered Number 1112412, which in November 2009 transferred £21,000.
